Large, engaging cluster of sharp, pink Cobaltian Smithsonite that completely covers the entire matrix. The Smithsonites have a very good pink color, excellent luster, and classic curved-rhombohedral habit. They are gemmy to translucent, and the crystals have well-defined outer zones that are a darker, richer pink. A very nice touch are the thousands of silvery micro flakes of an unknown sulfide that sparkle just below the surface of all the crystals. Looks like Christmas decorations. The Smithsonites average just over 1 cm on edge, and only one of the major crystals was damaged, which is rather remarkable in and of itself. An excellent, representative specimen of one of the most desirable of species from Tsumeb.
