An extremely colorful specimen composed of multiple habits of bright purple Sugilite! One side of the specimen shows a thin seam of solid, multi-hued Sugilite exhibiting a large, royal purple area richly embedded with vibrant, pale purple, plumose aggregates of Sugilite. The opposing side of the piece displays a myriad of 1-2mm aggregates of radial fibrous, velvety purple Sugilite comprised of microcrystals. It is very uncommon to have this richness and diversity of forms of Sugilite in one piece. Pieces of this quality were from a single pocket found late in 2016, and although there were many pieces, this is one of the more densely formed and saturated ones. Sugilite is a beautiful and chemically complex potassium lithium iron manganese silicate. Specimens like this are very desirable and hard to obtain today.
