This is an astonishing golden yellow, gem Scapolite crystal from Tanzania. These originate from a contact metamorphic occurrence in marble and this crystal displays a unique, beautiful golden color AND excellent crystal form that is so absent in the golden-colored Scapolites from Brazil or India. The rich yellow-amber color is consistent throughout the crystal. Rarely do gem Scapolites occur in this large size have the saturation, let alone the clarity (as it is very gemmy with only some linear, vertical inclusions that only slightly obscure its transparency and also add character). The luster of this Scapolite is off the charts! This impressive gem crystal is hefty at 83 grams.
