Composed entirely of Cuprite, this superb specimen features dozens upon dozens of sharp crystals stacked and intergrown with one another. The Cuprite crystals are rather lustrous, gemmy and display a rich blood red color which is intensified with backlighting. The majority of the crystals are octahedra, especially those near the top, with others having modifications, maybe cube and dodecahedron. Crystal size ranges from a few millimeters to 1.2cm for the crystal at the top of the stack. The front of the piece is entirely crystalline whereas the backside of the piece displays a somewhat porous texture to the Cuprite. In terrific condition with no damage. When strongly backlit, it glows cherry red.
