Brazilianite on Albite

This is one of the more beautiful, rich, and striking Brazilianite pieces from finds in the last couple of decades at Linopolis which brought out some very fine Brazilianite for more collectors, in the best finds since the 1940s. For the first time, we had the chance to get well-preserved large cabinet matrix specimens like this, with contrasting matrix and with large crystals well-placed upon it. This cabinet specimen features over two dozen very significant, bright, distinctive green-yellow crystals from around 2 cm up to 6 cm in length, associated with some sparkling, white Albite crystals. The piece is extremely colorful, bright, and lustrous. The Brazilianites in the cluster are randomly oriented and cover two-thirds of the entire piece ; so it displays nicely from many angles. The well-formed prism faces and chisel-shaped terminations reflect any incident light. The crystals are translucent in the centers and gemmy at the tips and along the edges. The yellow-green color is particularly intense and contrasts nicely with the white Albite blades. There is minor contacting on the very back of the piece where it was attached to other Brazilianite and Albite crystals in the pocket. All of the Brazilianite and Albite crystals are pristine. It simply sparkles! A well composed and well balanced cabinet piece from major finds of about 2005 (we actually had this at the time, directly from Brazil, and it went into a collection for over 15 years - this is not new material and in fact is better quality than the few finds since.
