A phenomenal large display miniature of sculptural Franckeite from the famous and historic San Jose silver-tin mine located on the Bolivian Altiplano in the eastern Andes. This extraordinary miniature consists of numerous, mounded aggregates of brilliant metallic silver-gray, spherical, radial sprays of Franckeite in a very aesthetic composition, and the specimen is from the noted 2004 find at this mine. It is very characteristic for the shape as if it was frozen worm like growths, with sharp crystals along the tendrils. This is considered the best locality for Franckeite, an exceptionally rare iron-lead-tin-antimony sulfosalt. The individual crystals are slender prismatic and average a few millimeters in length. A superb example of this rare species!
