The ArkenstoneFeatured
A sparkling matrix hosting a several different species from the Weilasituo copper-zinc deposit in China, featuring some of the most exceptional pyrrhotite crystals seen from China to date. This piece is embellished with numerous bronze, hexagonal plates of Pyrrhotite; patches of white Calcite crystals; several needles of Quartz and a dusting of tiny, black Cassiterite crystals. The tabular, hexagonal Pyrrhotites vary in size from 0.6 to 3.8 cm across with the largest one adroitly set at the top of the piece with other smaller Pyrrhotite crystals grouped with it and then some are scattered as isolated crystals admixed with small, discoid Calcite crystals. Slender, translucent, 1 to 2 cm Quartz crystals are also present locally, and tiny, 1 to 2 mm, brilliantly lustrous, black Cassiterite crystals are sprinkled about the piece. An attractive and interesting combination specimen from this relatively unheard-of Chinese locality. Found in 2018.
