Analcime
Analcime is a very rare associated mineral in the important copper deposits of Michigan. Large specimens with any kind of display size and quality, any grouping of crystals like this, are extremely rare and valued highly by local collectors so that few of them frankly ever got out of state. Or, if they did, they went into the collections of Michigan specialists, and usually drift back at some point. This large, rich specimen has size and aesthetics, with stark ghostly-white crystals to 2.6 cm. All the crystals in front are perfect and the display face is intact, and it is only contacted on the back where it came off matrix. This was in the collection of notable Michigan based collector Bob Nowakowski, who had built at one time a very important collection of Michigan material specializing in large sizes when possible. Specimens like this, I have been told, mostly date to the old days of mining (early 1900s or earlier) with only a few pockets in the relatively more modern eras of collecting. It is a significant USA specimen.
