Manganite
A lustrous mass of bladed, intergrown Manganite crystals that reach 2 cm in length from the base of the specimen to the exposed tips. Many of the crystals have rounded, seemingly 'polished' terminations which are highly lustrous and silver-black. The remainder of the specimen is a rich velvety black similar to Psilomelane. Surprisingly, actual manganite crystals are quite rare from the Kalahari Manganese Field. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
