Calcite

We acquired all the good specimens a year or so ago from this very small Chinese find of very distinctive calcites on matrix. They have an orange color, from what looks to be hematite inclusions, a silky surface, and what is most interesting about them is how they sit up completely exposed on the surface of the matrix as if gently placed there. This crystal measures 5.8 cm.
