Over a thin crust of aurichalcite is a superb miniature of satiny, translucent, sky-blue smithsonite. The smithsonite spheres culminate in one central, dominant botryoidal growth measuring 1.9 cm across. This specimen is one of the finer examples in the under $1000 range I have seen of a truly good Kelly smithsonite, recently. It is old, and harder and harder to find for sale these days. From the miniatures collection of Ken Rippere.
