Beryl (Var: Emerald)
This is a second gorgeous matrix specimen from this same recent and unique matrix find, featuring a 2 x 0.8 x 0.75 cm emerald crystal perched attractively against contrasting matrix. THE CRYSTAL IS ALMOST AN INCH LONG!! It is so transparently clean that you can look right through most of it, looking through it to the matrix beyond. It has a sharp, clean termination, smooth to the touch and pristine. Gem emeralds of this caliber, on matrix, usually sell for over five figures. This is one of two specimens from a new find, which were sold directly to me by a source in Colombia, and I got them cheaply and am passing it on. Note as an added bonus that the matrix of massive calcite on hard rock iscovered by sparkling, glistening, needle-like crystals of selenite. This seems to be characteristic of this new find, and it is a quite unusual and attractive accent to the usual calcite matrix from here! 8.2 x 3.9 x 4.8 cm
