Olivenite (Zn-Rich) and Mottramite on Cuprite
Rare, and for what they are, spectacular, hexagonal tabular crystals of mint-green Zn-rich Olivenite. These crystals were analyzed by X-ray, and were confirmed to be Zn-Olivenite "just over the border from Cuprian Adamite." They range in size from 1-2 mm, and their habit is sharp and distinctive. Some of the crystals actually form little rosettes, which have great aesthetics. Below the Olivenites is a rich layer of what appears to be Mottramite, and all rest on massive Cuprite ore. A superb specimen.
