This is another superb example of Elmwood calcite: Rarely do you see such a large and gemmy doubly-terminated crystal WITH matrix, and in such condition. This hosts a doubly-terminated, twinned, gemmy crystal with a great cognac color, measuring 19 cm across. This crystal is beautifully perched on gray limestone matrix. Only the teeny-tiniest of edge wear or perhaps contacting is detectable on a few small edges near the tip. Just wonderful 3-dimensional display quality! This piece is remarkable for the size and basically undamaged quality of the crystal - if you think about it, and how freestanding it is, its a miracle this thing survived so unscathed.
