Lustrous, un-twinned, ruby-red cinnabar crystals to 5 mm very richly and nicely set on contrasting, off-white calcite matrix from Charcas, Mexico. This is classic and very old material. Cinnabar is uncommon from Charcas and this is excellent material, surely very old. Very rich mercury specimen here, for Mexico - and pretty, as a cinnabar locality piece too. Ex. Jaime Bird Collection.
