Specimens of manganite you would think to be plentiful in the rich manganese ores of the Kalahari. In fact, they are very hard to come by. The mineral must usually turn into other things, I suppose. But Charlie had a stash, among them this superb miniature of platy, thick manganite crystals to 1.6 cm in size. It is significant for the district for this species. Ex. Charlie Key.
