Intensely lustrous, orangey-red crystals to 1.5 cm line the edge of the matrix of this attractive vanadinite specimen. That roughness you see on the large crystal is not damage - those are hundreds of micro-faces, possibly from an early point of attachment that later healed in the pocket. These are thick, chunky and unusually transparent crystals.
