This is a rich, multilayered smithsonite specimen with at least 2 if not 3 separate depositions of subtly different color and texture. Kelly smithsonites of this classic blue color are among the most treasured of US classics, and this mine is famous around the world for its blue smithsonite. It is a large piece, very colorful and attractive. The matrix is a hard rock material, indicative generally of older finds here. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
