Two generations of very fine Smithsonite highlight this excellent small cabinet piece. The first generation are 1-2 mm clear crystals with superb pearly luster, covering much of the top of the matrix. They are really quite scintillating. Growing on this first generation is a layer of very sharp wheat-colored Smithsonite that has excellent luster and sharp, edges highlighted delicately with a darker shade of brown. The Smithsonites are gemmy, and the largest, of which there are many, are about 1 cm in size.
