A rare and rich specimen of very sharp, lustrous and gemmy, metallic-pink manganoan smithsonite rhombs from the Tsumeb Mine. Manganoan smithsonite is a much less common pink smithsonite varietal from this locale compared to cobaltoan smithsonite. The very distinctive metallic-pink color and very sharp rhombohedral, translucent crystals differentiate these from the much more common pink cobaltoan smithsonites when seen by the trained eye. Seldom available, as these pieces came from a small, one-time find in the early-mid 1980s. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
