We have all seen a large number of classic Kelly Mine smithsonites over the years, but for sheer impact, this is one I personally find mesmerizing. It has incredible color, great luster, and a very artistic 3-dimensional arrangement of "bubbles" of botryoidal smithsonite. It is pristine and complete all around. For this particular style, it is one of the best I know of. This is one of several pieces in this update from a small choice smithsonite collection I purchased in 2013. It probably dates from the mining here in the 1970s-1980s. Joe Budd photos.
