Rarely does one see a startlingly, richly colored purple-lavender color in crystals from Ouro Preto like this one. Glassy, well formed and essentially all gem, this crystal is purple-lavender with absolutely no hint of orange or yellow, the typical colors of Imperial Topaz from this locality. It is 2cm in length and 0.9cm in width with sharply formed crystal faces and edges with a great pyramidal termination and a diamond-shaped cross-section. This is one of the rarest gem crystals from Brazil. Mass is 11.8 carats
