This is an extremely hard to find specimen from maybe THE classic American locality: Bisbee, Arizona. It is a rich layer or mat of the rare copper oxide chalcotrichite (in Greek it means "hairy copper," which is a very good description). It consists of tiny acicular (hair-like) crystals - in this case in a layer exposed on the matrix.
