Imperial topaz from Ouro Preto is world famous, with most crystals exhibiting an orange to reddish-orange color. This lustrous and translucent crystal exhibits the much rarer, rich purple color! It is from a famous find in the late 1980s, which hit a pocket only about the size of a basketball - still the best pocket of this material! This is rather large for the material, actually. The mass is 32.18 carats. I have not had one this good in YEARS. It is an important, high level thumbnail specimen suitable for any top thumbnail gem crystal collection.
