Very impressive cluster of Cadmian Smithsonite overgrown on a pink generation of cobaltian Smithsonite. The very large (up to 2.7 cm across) Cadmian Smithsonite crystals have excellent luster, and somewhat unusual form in that the large, curved rhombs appear almost cubic, with more prominent bevels than you normally see. This habit adds greatly to the aesthetics of the piece. There is some minor bruising, but the fine luster and rich butterscotch color more than attract the eye to compensate and it is small in context of the size and color saturation of the specimen.
