This is a superb specimen of "Imperial" topaz from Ouro Preto, Brazil. This classic, gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, complete all-around, striated crystal has beautiful, golden-orange color and excellent luster and fire. But, unusually, it has a hint of red to it, as well - the color is more intense than usual, not the typical shades of orange hues, with a distinct red or umber tone to it. The sharp pyramidal termination is particularly gemmy. A large, highly representative crystal from the renowned locale. Weighs 41 grams.
