Kelly Mine smithsonites are one of the great USA classics, but also among the world's best of species for what they are. This has the TOP COLOR and TOP LUSTER one could ask for, combined with excellent 3-dimensional shape. It is, for the size range, in the top caliber range of quality all around. This probably dates to the older mining here given the brownish matrix typical of older upper zones of the mine, though there is no way to be sure. It has everything going for it, and is so far beyond the normal quality we see for sale, it is only possible to say that the photos are "accurate" but still do not do it justice. Put it in a case, and it positively glows. I value average Kelly smithsonites fairly, and great ones highly - this is a great one.
