Perched aesthetically on a variegated quartz matrix are discrete clusters of lustrous and translucent, rich orange colored wulfenite crystals, to 1.5 cm across. This specimen dates to the 1990s when Wayne Thompson was mining the Red Cloud Mine. The isolation and separation on matrix is unusual and few solid quartz matrix specimens like this turned up. It is in remarkably good condition, and has no repairs. For a cabinet sized Red Cloud, in this price range, it is very impressive. Ex. Klaus Neumann collection (purchased in Tucson in the 1990s)
