Ludlamite is a coveted and rare iron phosphate. This highly unusual 'pinwheel' habit consists of sharp, lustrous, and translucent green crystals laid out in a perfect radial pattern, perched right on a stalk of Ludlamite. There have been only five localities worldwide that have produced truly fine Ludlamites, and all are now defunct. Even Huanuni has been closed since 2004, making good Ludlamites harder and harder to obtain. The uniqueness and radial aesthetics of the piece make it a truly outstanding thumbnail.
