This is a very aesthetic, slightly curved, highly lustrous and faintly translucent, cluster of olivenite crystals, to 7 mm in length. It is definitely of competition quality for this size range and style for the species! Thought to have come out in the early to mid 1980s, this style is extremely uncommon. The bright yellow microcrystals are the rare species, Gartrellite, in superb form. This is a perfect hedgehog-shaped cluster, very rich and dramatic. Ex. Marshall Sussman collection (1990s) to Gene Reynolds (until 2003) and then Ex Roland Sherman's very well known competitive copper species suite of thumbnails and toenails, sold off some years ago.
