Smithsonite
A very sculptural vug in sturdy gossan matrix is filled with sparkly, multi-hued green smithsonite microcrystals in bubbly, botryoidal form. This fine piece is from the famed mines at Laurium, Greece and is probably old. A very highly representative specimen from this historic locale. The Laurium mines were called "ancient" in the time of the Classical Greeks. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
