A beautiful, old-time, cabinet smithsonite specimen from the ancient mines at Lavrion (Laurium), Greece. Lustrous, translucent, waxy luster, powder-blue smithsonite botryoids cover both sides of this beautiful plate. The Laurium mines were called "ancient" in the time of the Classical Greeks. Ex.
