In the realm of Red Cloud Wulfenites, considered among the world's best, if not THE best, Ed Over pieces reign supreme. Prompted to collect at the Red Cloud by dealer Art Montgomery, Ed Over made this classic discovery in 1938. Reverently known as 'Ed Over' Red Clouds, they are renowned for their superb luster, fine form, and distinctly red tint. More modern-day Red Clouds tend towards the orange portion of the spectrum. The crystals on this small cab are in remarkably good condition, with very few dings, and the largest is about 2 cm on edge. The aesthetics and overall quality of this rich cluster are, as you can tell from the pics, stunning. Considered one of the most important and historic localities in the United States, Ed Over pieces from this rarely worked locality command a deserved premium. This specimen was purchased in 1968 from dealer Rick Smith, and it came out of the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh (ref numbers on back).
