The Kelly mine is world-famous for its highly lustrous, botryoidal smithsonite with the classic 'Kelly Blue' color that is so coveted, of which this specimen is a great thumbnail example! The specimen is accented with white smithsonite overgrowths, giving it the appearance of waves crashing in the ocean. The surfaces of the botryoids are smooth and silky. All around, an excellent and representative thumbnail from one of the world's top localities for smithsonite!
