This largish chunk of matrix is richly covered with cobaltoan calcite. Some of the crystals are sheared off at the level of the matrix, but one three-inch area is full of superb, bright pink, translucent, BIG crystals to almost a centimeter! They have perfect form and pyramidal terminations. They almost look trigonal, which would be totally bizarre, but there are in fact 6 faces around the sides if you look closely - 3 of them are small and appear almost as bevels.
