This is an incredible cluster of clinoenstatite for the species with large lustrous crystals of unusually high quality: in fact, we haven't seen another from any locality like it! This super-glassy piece consists of a wealth of robust, green-shimmering, somewhat translucent clinoenstatite crystals from 0.5 to 3.6 cm in length, stacked upon each other and nicely composed as a specimen, overall. Unlike most which are "jumbly" or rocky. This has a perfect dominating crystal that takes the piece to a higher level of play. It is a relatively common pyroxene group mineral that is often considered a rock forming mineral and not worthy of "serious display collectors”, but, rarely we see crystal groups like this that have formed in an open cavity and really surprise us for the quality. The amazing luster and as well as the translucent green skin color just draws the eye to it unlike other dark minerals with lesser luster that doesn't compare favorably to this piece! It actually is not only pretty, but a stumper if you showed to most people to guess what it is (I think most would suppose at first glance, an Alaskan epidote!). This was on display at the Munich Show and comes with Paul Stahl's Munich show label from his well-known annual displays over many years.
