A loose grouping of deep green double terminated semi lustrous thick epidote crystals. This is in terrific condition all around. There are no points of attachment.Bendougou, situated near Diakon in the Bafoulabe Cercle of the Kayes Region in Mali, is widely known among mineral enthusiasts for the Djouga diggings, a series of small surface excavations. The locality is not an industrial corporate mine with formal opening and closing dates, but rather an artisanal site actively worked by local miners on an intermittent basis for specimen collection. Geologically, the area is set within the West African regional framework, where localized hydrothermal and weathering processes carve through ancient basement rocks, producing fine, highly prized mineral specimens—most notably botryoidal prehnite often associated with epidote and garnets.
