Mostly found as rock, carving, or lapidary material, true specimens of Sugilite above 4-5 cm in size are uncommon for collectors to obtain. Here is a fine, showy, plate of the very rare mineral Sugilite forming as flat-lying crystals and masses on a slender matrix. This comes from one of the most important finds of this beautiful and very rare species from the Kalahari Manganese Field, a pocket from 2016.
