Lustrous sharp crystals of galena measuring to 3.0 cm in size up on a crystallized quartz matrix with smaller crystals of pyrrhotite scattered throughout. This is in great condition.Dalnegorsk, originally named Tetyukhe until its renaming in 1972, was founded in the late 19th century following the discovery of rich polymetallic deposits, evolving rapidly into a vital industrial hub for mining lead and zinc. Geologically, the area is situated within a rugged mountainous terrain shaped by intense Mesozoic and Cenozoic magmatic activity. Its world-renowned mineralogy is dominated by complex skarn ore systems and skarn deposits, where the interaction of intrusive magmas and carbonate rocks produced an extraordinary variety of rare and pristine mineral specimens, making it one of the most famous collecting localities in Russia.
