A fine, large, and showy cluster of lustrous, gemmy-to-translucent, HOT pink Cobaltoan Calcite crystals on matrix from the famous Bou Azzer district in Morocco. This choice, cabinet-sized specimen is composed of cm-sized crystals with a nail-head habit. They are densely intergrown, covering the entirety of one side of the matrix. The intense-rose pink variegated color is attractive, and the high luster and good light transmission enhance the color nicely. To those who are very careful about display face damage: it has, on close examination, a few small spots of damage which could be modified in-lab or simply with drops of acid or mineral oil, but we did not judge these detracting enough to send out to the lab; and so it is instead priced a bit lower than it might be if totally pristine with this size and color. Very attractive and interesting all at the same time, the Calcites also have a pinkish-orange fluorescence. Morocco has produced some really nice specimens of this desirable Calcite variety, especially compared to the druses that you often see from elsewhere. Classic material from around 2010-15, now hard to obtain in such visual impact and size.
