The ArkenstoneFeatured
This is a vintage example of classic Tetrahedrite with Quartz from the finds here during the heyday of Casapalca in the 1980s or early 1990s. Dramatic, this small-cabinet specimen features a single, large 3.6 cm Tetrahedrite crystal rising up from a plate of smaller sharp crystals of Tennantite, intermixed with Chalcopyrite. The key to this piece is this impressive, large crystal that serves as the focal point. Well-formed and complex, with great faces and subtle striations, the surfaces are further enhanced by the luster. Rather than being the typical gunmetal-grey of many Tetrahedrites, this crystal has a uniform, visually-stunning golden iridescence that highlights the faces and the striations. It's really quite a significant Tetrahedrite. The ring of glistening and gemmy Quartz, as well as the Chalcopyrite, add even more interest and aesthetics. This well-composed combination piece displays very well.
