The Morra da Mina mine has produced some of the finest deeply saturated red rhodonite crystals in the world. Although the mine has been in production for over 100 years it was only in the 2000's when these specimens began to appear on the market. This particular specimen is gemmy with a nice termination and top notch color. The saturated cherry red is unmatched when backlit. In excellent condition, I note only a single small ding near the base.
