Vanadinite on Baryte
Unknown Owner
A classic, and classy, highly lustrous Vanadinite on Baryte from the famous 'modern' finds at Mibladen Mining District, Meknès-Tafilalet Region, Morocco. Small cabinet in size, the Vanadinite crystals are not huge, but they have that sumptuous 'wet' lustre to them and stunning rich cola-red colour. Underneath, the Baryte forms a plate of pale pink bladed cockscomb crystal aggregates. This association with Baryte is slightly older material and makes for a lovely combination. This is an impressive, high quality Vanadinite but sometimes we get a bit saturated by the quantity of Vanadanite that Morocco has produced. However, much less of what is seen makes great specimens, and when the source dries up we will look back and think how privileged we were to be around when it came out.
