This quite distinctive large miniature Olivenite specimen consists of rich, lustrous, dark olive green rice-grain like crystals measuring to 4 mm in length clustered across cavities within a porous iron-stained Quartz gossan. Associated with these are several distinct areas of matt, mid-green Cornwallite, itself forming an open, box-work texture. The crystal form of Olivenite combined with its association with Cornwallite and porous iron-stained Quartz with black manganese oxides is very distinctive. We have it labelled as from Wheal Gorland at St. Day in Cornwall but the previous collection label is simply "St. Day". Ex Rene Hubin collection in Neupre, Belgium.
