Famous for superb, often darker coloured, terminated Elbaite tourmaline crystals artistically intergrown with distinctive white, platy Cleavelandite Albite crystals, the remote Stak Nala pegmatite deposits in the Haramosh Mountains, Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan have been worked since the 1980s. With two large doubly-terminated prismatic Elbaite crystals diverging from a common base and held together with the assistance of rosetted clustered of white platy Cleavelandite crystals. The Elbaite crystals are an extremely dark bottle-green for most of their length but are topped with prominent pink summits above short olive-green sections. The longer of the two reaches 9 cm in length with an intriguing overlapping stepped section halfway down its length. Both tourmaline crystals are hemimorphic, featuring classic pyramidal upper terminations and flat, pinacoid, lower terminations. Although its history is not documented this is very much of the style of specimens from the late 1980s. It comes with a custom-made acryllic display stand.
