Dimensions: 2.5 x 2.2 cm Origin: Merelani Hills, Lelatema Mts, Simanjiro Dist., Manyara Region, Tanzania Very beautiful crystal of Tanzanite (variety of heated Zoisite) associated with silky looking Tremolite crystals. The crystal is perfect, beautiful epitaxies on the faces of the crystal, intense color with a typical blue becoming purple depending on the viewing angle (pleochroism). Tanzanite crystal size 2.1cm. If the isolated crystals are quite common (although very sought after), pieces with a harmonious presentation associated with another mineral are more difficult to find. Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen. The mineral is not glued to the base (soft putty).
