This is an excellent miniature composed of a prominent trio of spherical growths of small Millerite crystals toward one end: a highly aesthetic example of an old classic. The remainder of the piece consists of numerous, smaller, low-profile "botryoids" that are very classic and also quite good for the locality and the species. The overall color on the top is a rich to medium forest green and the edges of this intriguing piece reveal the radial fibrous nature of the Millerite and its brassy color that has a lovely patina. It speaks for itself, to those who have ever been looking for or known about them and many collectors of classics consider these to be the best (for size and style) of species. A true USA classic, this old Millerite from the Gap Mine in Pennsylvania dates to the late 1800s and these are almost never seen for sale.
