An absolutely beautiful miniature featuring attractive dendritic Native Copper crystals on white Calcite from Bisbee, Arizona. This is almost impossible to expect from Bisbee, and a relic of the early finds there that are mostly lost to history. Paul Seel was collecting by the early 1900s and travelled the USA in the 1940s-1950s. This came out, certainly, before that time. Perhaps he got it from a miner's collection. It is a very rare style from Bisbee, aside from the calcite association: dendritic, spinel-twinned, reddish Copper crystals with a very nice patina are artfully displayed on white, 0.3 to 1.1 cm clusters of white Calcite crystals. The branching Copper is a long spinel twin itself, with offshoots of smaller individual crystals from 1 to 3 mm, as perfect spinel law twins arranged in super aesthetic geometry growing at right angles, or nearly so, from the main branches of Copper that are from 1 to 2.6 cm in length. There is a small amount of what appears to be bluish-green Chrysocolla associated with the Calcite on the orangey Hematite-stained matrix. An exceptional Bisbee Copper miniature!
