Renowned for some of the world's best Smithsonite (zinc carbonate) crystals, in terms of colour, shape and size, it is actually quite unusual to see such remarkably sharp, glassy, and transparent crystals as these from Tsumeb mine. Small cabinet in size and featuring individual crystals to over 1 cm, this wonderful specimen from the Hettrich Collection is very showy indeed. Some areas of orange-brown inclusions are seen within a few of the Smithsonite crystals.
