Cobaltoan Smithsonite with Cerussite
The pink cobalt-bearing variety of Smithsonite is one of the most popular forms of Smithsonite from Tsumeb mine because it combines an attractive but unusual colour with well-defined crystals. Usually though, specimens are small, making sizable display pieces the hardest to source. This significant cabinet-sized display specimen naturally presents well on its side, but comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand which allows the specimen to be displayed upright vertically, thus showing off the associated cluster of Cerussite crystals at one end. Slightly paler pink than some Cobaltoan Smithsonite this super specimen is liberally covered with sharp, well-formed, pointed Smithsonite crystals, from 3 to 8 mm in length, but with the characteristic slight rounding to their edges as seen with most pink cobaltoan forms. The crystals extend around to the sides, making for a really great all-round display, and all showing off a great pearlescent lustre. A really very large display specimen of Cobaltoan Smithsonite for the price.
